The right furniture, fabrics and lighting can transform a chilly home into a warm and inviting retreat. According to King Living, creating a new look for autumn/winter can be as simple as introducing texture and layers to existing interiors, with some warmer accents to maintain a contemporary feel.
Moving away from traditional greys, the new season focuses on balanced neutrals by combining both warm and cool palettes. King Living’s resident trends expert, Triana Odone, suggests caramels, tan and taupe tones can be easily incorporated into the home, complementing most furniture and homewares, while still keeping the look modern and timeless.
For a more tactile effect, Odone recommends emphasising texture in fabric choices on sofas and cushions and adding throws which are beneficial on colder evenings. To create ambience, lighting can be cleverly used. “It’s important to consider the style and size of floor and table lamps, as this impacts the way the light is diffused in the room and the mood of the space. Quality hand loomed wool rugs create a luxurious look and feel, completing the visual impact of the room.”
Achieve a new season look for the sofa with a range of King Living fabrics and leathers. Odone says having an extensive collection of fabric and leather collections to select from, allows for customisation and a more personalised setting which is the future direction. “Explore clever combinations, such as the sofa in leather and armchairs in a decorative fabric in similar tones or vice versa.”
Available in the latest neutrals and colours, Embrace is a deluxe upholstery chenille fabric with a lustrous finish. Recently launched, the Prestige leather collection features the newest look, a soft, luxurious full grain in real leather colours. The colours Saddle, Bay and Dapple have a two tone effect that gives the leather unique depth and texture. Both the Prestige and Embrace collections were developed by and are exclusive to King Living.
