WyreStorm unveils new weather protected NetworkHD AV solution

December 2022 – La Niña is expected to continue throughout the summer which means, for northern and eastern parts of Australia, there is an increased chance of above average rainfall.1 To help support businesses with their audio visual (AV) needs even in wild weather events, WyreStorm, an award-winning AV solutions manufacturer, is the first in the industry to weatherproof an AV over internet protocol (IP) receiver.

In partnership with Sealoc, a leader in outdoor AV solutions, WyreStorm has released a weather-protected addition to its NetworkHD (NHD) collection, the NHD-110-RX-S.

The NHD-110-RX-S is an AV decoder that connects to and supports the powerful 110 series of NHD components. Combined with Sealoc’s Weatherloc technology, the series decoder has been specially developed to resist an array of environmental elements, including water, moisture, humidity, dust, salt-fog, salt-air, and even acidic products, making it a perfect fit for the Australian atmosphere. Sealoc’s exclusive Weatherloc anti-corrosion, waterproofing conformal nano-coating process ensures that the delicate, sensitive electronics and receiver surfaces are protected from harsh weather conditions. This promotes flexible and adaptable use of the technology in a variety of outdoor scenarios, such as live events, outdoor installations, outdoor signage, and immersive landscape displays.

The NHD-110-RX-S can support both H.264 and H.265 decoding and encoding capabilities for up to 1080p60 Hertz (Hz, pictures per second) high definition (HD) video resolution content, as well as 2ch stereo pulse code modulation (PCM) audio output. It can natively process up to a 16×16 video wall to create captivating digital landscapes, and is also compatible with the NHD-250-RX multiview receiver which facilitates up to nine unique streams to be sent to a single display.

Sealoc’s Weatherloc nano-coating solutions are both ecologically- and human-friendly, designed to comply with both Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS) and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals (REACH) measures.

  • customisable consumer electronic control (CEC), IR or RS-232 control of connected devices

  • breakaway, independent routing of all video, audio, IR, USB, and RS-232 streams
  • infrared signal generation via application programming interface (API) that supports Hex Global Cache format
  • high security with protocols such as Secure Shell (SSH), Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to encrypt data and prevent unauthorised access
  • interoperable with NHD-100-TX and NHD-140-TX
